So much has happened since August 2014 and the first Science Advice to Governments conference in Auckland New Zealand. Organisers of the conference are pleased to introduce this redeveloped website and the ongoing work to maintain momentum and build on the vibrant global discussion that started in Auckland, through the new International Network for Science Advice to Governments. Having served as the community hub for discussion and resources during that conference, this website is now being redeveloped as the ongoing home of the Network, which is a conference legacy initiative for practitioners and scholars of government science advice.
Visitors to the website will note that all of the material and conversation generated in Auckland is still available here for convenience, including videos, photos and guest expert blogs. We hope that this material on the challenges and practice of science advice may serve as a useful resource for practitioners, policy makers, lecturers and students in the field. We also hope that the development of an ongoing network is the first step to producing more of this type of content for broad use and sharing.
Just as INGSA is in an early state of development, so too is this website. A Network Development Group has been established to help grow the network and plan partnered activities that could benefit from INGSA involvement in some capacity, whether as convenor, organiser, contact point or conduit. The website is also expected to play an increasingly important role in providing information and resources about science advice by advertising relevant events and activities and hosting a global conversation through guest blogs and other expert input.
